To provide educational, recreational, and enrichment programs for children. To break the cycle of poverty in the greater-Jaffa community and support each child's self esteem so that he/she can evolve into a healthy, educated and productive adult.

The Jaffa Institute is staffed by over 200 highly trained professionals and up to 400 dedicated volunteers, including young people who were previously beneficiaries of the Institute’s programs. In response to local need, the Institute provides a large portfolio of educational, recreational and social support services at 6 program sites including Jaffa, Bat Yam, South Tel Aviv, in Jerusalem and at a residential education center at Bet Shemesh. In 2001, the Institute was awarded the President’s Prize for the Most Outstanding Voluntary Organization, and the Bet Shemesh Center has twice won the President’s Prize for Excellence in Education, in 1995 and 2004.
