Sulam is a recognized non-profit organization for special education in Israel, which was established in 1981. The goal and raison d'etre of Sulam is the successful integration of every handicapped individual into the society he inhabits, whether it be the nursery, classroom, workplace or community. Sulam's philosophy which is reflected in all its programs and therapies is that a handicapped child has the same fundamental rights as every other child. Therefore, every disabled child deserves to learn with normative children his own age, in the same education framework.Sulam's professional approach is based on this concept: a handicapped individual is an integral part of his society, and Sulam's mission is to see that every child in our care is given the tools achieve this aim, according to his ability.
