The poverty crisis in Israel has worsened dramatically since Yad Ezra V’Shulamit’s founding in 1988.
Today, an astonishing one-third of all children live below the poverty line.
Yad Ezra V’Shulamit focuses on children, the most vulnerable in the population, those who can't help themselves. We run children’s centers where daily hot lunches, educational and emotional support is provided for 500 needy children.
We distribute food baskets to more than 100,000 disadvantaged children and families weekly and on holidays.
Other projects include: distributing new winter coats, boots, backpacks, school supplies, heaters, baby formula, and grocery vouchers for widows and orphans. Our new wedding halls provide low cost weddings to those in need. During times of war Yad Ezra V'Shulamit provides emergency relief, going into the most dangerous areas to supply food to those hiding in shelters.
Whichever project you connect with, all our projects benefit Jewish communities in Israel living under the poverty line and in difficult circumstances. The need is great, and together we can make a real difference to their lives.
