The organization's uniqueness lies in its comprehensive multidisciplinary care provided to the special child, and the support given to their immediate environment - parents, brothers, and sisters - through various activities including: a therapeutic center, a vacation center, community housing, IDF integration, a child rights information center, a mentoring volunteers project, social activities, and summer camps and respite care.
Here are the detailed activities:
Regesh Center: A network of treatment centers providing paramedical treatments and therapies for children with special needs. The centers include treatment rooms, an animal corner, a therapeutic pool, a Snoezelen room, and a therapeutic horse farm. In 2022, the center provided over 30,000 treatments. The network has branches in Petach Tikva, Beit Dagan, Tzafriya, and soon in Moshav Zeitan.
Vacation Lodge: A lodge in Haifa that hosts groups of children with special needs from all over the country on weekends, enjoying two days of experiences and fun, closely accompanied by professionals and volunteers. Meanwhile, parents and family members can rest from the constant care of the child and gather strength for continued coping. The lodge is recognized and funded in partnership with the Ministry of Welfare. In 2022, over 450 children stayed at the lodge.
Community Housing: Out-of-home housing arrangements for adults with special needs aged 21 and above. In these apartments, they maintain an independent lifestyle, alongside professional staff who are with them constantly. The housing includes personal employment programs, recreational activities, trips, and community life integration. The housing arrangements are funded and supervised by the Ministry of Welfare.
Growing in Uniform: A program enabling young people with disabilities to integrate into meaningful military service in the IDF, and subsequently into employment. The program begins during high school, where they are exposed twice a week to military life and volunteer at nearby bases. Upon completing their studies, the young adults begin daily service and receive meaningful, permanent positions in one of the 70 bases participating in the program. Currently, we have nearly 1,000 young people in the program, and we work with 38 special education frameworks.
Growing in Employment Program: For graduates of the "Growing in Uniform" program, through which we integrate graduates into civilian employment (cafes, Super-Pharm, local authorities, nurseries, laundries, and more), and accompany them throughout the period. As part of their employment, they receive adjusted wages determined by the Ministry of Economy, and we guide them through the process of self-management and proper financial management.
