IT Works implements technological, vocational training programs for marginalized groups throughout Israel. Its participants are mentored in finding a skilled technological position, which will open the door to countless career opportunities and financial independence. In the past 4 years, over 600 participants from diverse backgrounds have completed IT Works courses, of which 65% are employed and economically independent today.
Upon recruitment, 40% of IT Works participants are typically unemployed and rely on government welfare services, while the remaining 60% are working in unskilled positions such as cleaners or kitchen workers, often times without proper employee benefits and earning salaries on which it is impossible to support a family with dignity.
IT Works training serves a diverse range of demographic groups nationwide including: low-income women, Druze, new immigrants, Ethiopian-Israelis, at-risk youth (including high school drop-outs), Israeli-Arabs and adults.
