Alternative is a NGO that develops projects in education and nonviolence communication, aimed at the solution of conflicts by peaceful means and the coexistence in the family and in the community, between ethnic groups, peoples and religions. For this we developed 3 activity centres:

1. Merchavim Center – working with children
2. Paulo Freire Center – working with professional staff
3. Merkaz Kesher – working with individuals, families and communities

The social psychological and educational model is based on the theory of nonviolence communication, mediation and dialogue, the theory of Multiple Intelligences and emotional intelligence, mainly using the Arts (plastics, music, dance, theatre and video) as a dialogical instrument.

Some of our activities in 2015-2016:

1. Yamei Peilut (daily activities): more than 6000 children from more than 50 cities and villages participate in one day activity. In those activities we work with nonviolence communication and tolerance.
2. Bilingual Camps: 100-120 children participate in ours activities in Nes Ammim. In the next year we are planned to criate two more centers – Maalot-Tarshicha and Carmiel.
3. Youth movement Seminars: on September and October we realize 3 seminars about activism and education to dialogue and nonviolence communication.
4. Workshops about violence against women and the international event against woman violence "One Billion Rising"
5. Israel-Palestine Brazilians commission
6. Workshops: emotional intelligence, nonviolence communication, narrative mediation. We work with schools, community centers, hospitals and NPO social and human rights organizations.
