The Ofri Memorial Foundation was established in June, 2008, to commemorate our beloved Ofri - an outstanding woman, a unique and extraordinary person - and to continue and revive, if only a fragment, her legacy of remarkable impartation.
Ofri left 3 children – Omer (15), Ido (10) and Hila (5 months old at her mother’s death). The idea to commemorate Ofri by orchestrating Bar and Bat Mitzvah parties for children of families who cannot afford to do so on their own, was initiated by a question her elder son, Omer, asked right after he received the tragic news of losing his mother: “Who will arrange Ido’s Bar-Mitzva?” (Ofri had arranged his, a party to remember!). The caring of an elder for his younger brother gave birth to the idea of bringing happiness to those who, for various reasons, are not able to celebrate this meaningful event as a family and social event.
We – a group of family members and friends of Ofri’s - have taken the initiative to make this idea a reality.
