NGO Shavvim was established to give a voice to people with disabilities in the Israeli media, with the aim of helping them and their families and advancing their integration into Israeli society, community and employment.

The NGO operates a news website that provides the community with news and essential information. The site also covers problems and injustices tat people with disabilities deal with, helps in finding solutions, creates a lever of influence on decision makers for the well-being of the community, and also provides a platform for the strengths of people with disabilities.

The NGO trains people with disabilities in journalism, and they are responsible for most of the content published on the website, as a full-paid job.

In addition, the NGO provides external training courses in the various communication professions (journalism, public relations, advertising and social media) for people with various disabilities.

Shavvim also holds large events designed to raise public awareness of the rights of people with disabilities, the importance of their integration into society and more.
