About

ALYN Hospital is one of the world's leading specialists in pediatric rehabilitation and is the only facility of its kind in Israel. ALYN specializes in the diagnosis and rehabilitation of infants, children and adolescents with physical disabilities, both congenital and acquired. Patients come to ALYN from all over Israel and abroad. The hospital is accessible and suitable for all patients regardless of their religion, culture or language. ALYN Hospital employs a multidisciplinary team who provide a wide range of medical services, paramedical therapies and additional state-of-the-art rehabilitation services. ALYN's various departments and services include: • Respiratory Rehabilitation Department • Rehabilitation Department • Day Rehabilitation Department • Multidisciplinary Outpatient Clinics • SHACHAR: Rehabilitation, Educational and Medical Day Care Center incorporating infant, kindergarten and school classes • The Skill Building Center • Maslul: The Dyna and Fala Weinstock Therapeutic Sports Center • The Legacy Heritage Fund Independent Living Neighborhood for Ventilator-Assisted Young Adults. In addition, ALYN Hospital serves as a center for research and teaching for professionals in pediatric rehabilitation. At ALYN we treat children with a variety of physical challenges from conditions requiring a professional diagnosis and short-term rehabilitation, to complex injuries and medical conditions, including artificial lung ventilation, requiring long-term rehabilitation. The treatment at ALYN Woldenberg Family Hospital is multidisciplinary, integrating expert physicians who specialize in diverse fields with paramedical therapists from the fields of physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy. Throughout their rehabilitation process every patient and their family is supported and guided by ALYN's nursing staff, social workers and psychologists. The families of all the patients receive instruction from the ALYN staff on how they can help their children through the often long and complex rehabilitation process. As part of ALYN’s specialized focus on pediatric rehabilitation, a variety of methods are utilized that engage children as active participants in the rehabilitation program, such as animal assisted therapy, computer technology therapy, virtual reality games, medical clowns, hydrotherapy and exercise in the hospital's sports center. We believe that it is the right of every child – despite any limitation – to have the highest quality of life possible. Therefore ALYN provides the "tools" to each patient – and to each family – to cope with the challenges of their condition, however complex, in order to maximize their full potential. Donations received are used to underwrite the costs of the Hospital’s activities in order to ensure the continuation of the highest possible level of the quality and quantity of the rehabilitation treatments given to the children, for the expansion of the Hospital’s research and development projects and for an Endowment Fund which will insure the continued existence of the Hospital and its activities in times of fiscal crises and emergencies. Donations to ALYN Hospital are channeled through the Friends of ALYN Society which is a registered non-profit organization raising funds for the ALYN Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center.
