Through 10 different programs throughout Israel, Aluma works with thousands of young people and their families annually to help level the playing field and ensure that all Israeli youth are afforded equal opportunities in the IDF and afterwards.
Aluma works with young people in three distinct phases from the start of the draft process: Before service, Aluma supports teens and their families by providing them with information, counseling, mentorship, group educational programs, team building, leadership training, social activities, and more. During Service: Aluma accompanies many of its participants throughout the entirety of their service, providing crucial support to individuals and often their families too. Through workshops, training seminars, mentorship, and more. After service, in addition to a growing alumni program through which alumni can give back to their communities and to Aluma; Aluma helps alumni and adults in their 20s and 30s from geographically marginalized areas, such as Arab-Israelis, find suitable, sustainable education and career tracks. Aluma provides counseling, networking, sources academic scholarships, and helps with job and internship training and placement.
