To develop and promote the care of specified populations and differently-abled citizens of Israel, in the spirit of the tenets of Judaism.
The Beth David Institute was established in 1976. In 1982 we established a residential home and hostel which now serves 88 developmentally disabled women. That framework, which provides a safe, warm and integrated Home for Life, has now grown to include 75 women in 6 apartments. This year we are building a new building with accessible, single level apartments so that the older and less mobile women can stay in the community they love and receive the care need. The other main project of the Beth David Institute is the Center for Deaf-Blind Persons, which opened in 1989 to serve the estimated 1,400 persons who have the dual disability of deaf-blindness in Israel.
