Theatre Company Jerusalem (TCJ) fuses contemporary theater and music with ancient Hebrew and Aramaic writing and song to create vibrant performances of artistic excellence. Our mission is to create a cultural centre where performing artists, students Through its work, this multi-disciplinary group tests the boundaries of theatre, art, religion, gender, social processes and the relationships between them. These collaborations have given rise to the creation of a variety of courses: Women’s Empowerment and Leadership, Empowerment for Young Women and Girls, Projects to integrate Young Women in Distress within various courses, Teacher Training in Jewish Studies and an annual Festival for Young Women Artists. The obfuscation of traditional boundaries generated by these inter-disciplinary encounters has given rise to fresh perspectives and many unanticipated experiences. TCJ's educational programs, in schools and universities inspire a new generation of students and scholars to discover the resonance that ancient sources have in today’s world, evoking their human and universal qualities and demonstrating the influence that theatre in dialogue with Sacred texts, can have within a community
