The Ma'aleh Film School is trains filmmakers at the highest professional level. Student films win prizes at film festivals across the globe, showcasing outstanding creative work, while providing an honest, yet positive view of Israel.
Ma'a'eh is a center for creating and sharing Jewish and Israeli culture & art via films. After appearing in film festivals around the world, student and graduates' films are used for entertainment, Jewish Identity programs and Israeli public relations. Community building includes VideoTherapy, therapeutic film workshops that strengthen at-risk teens, terror victims, the disabled, immigrants, and others. Focus on practical uses of film and filmmaking, led to creation of a professional, 1 year course in filmmaking, a vocational track for Ultra-Orthodox women. Participants learn skills needed to successfully enter the workforce and achieve economic independence. Semester programs and summer courses in basic filmmaking and use of film in educational environments, taught in English foreign students, build bridges across all sectors of the Jewish World.
