Green Horizons-Hugey Sayarut of the Jewish National Fund In Memory of Uri Meimon

Hugei Sayarut(know as Green Horizons)offers educational outdoor activities for youth in Israel. The organization focuses on hiking to foster the development of interpersonal and leadership skills,social responsibility and the love of Israel. Hugei Sayarut (Hebrew for hiking groups,know in english as Green Horizons of KKL-JNF) is active for the last 40 years. It is a registered non profitable , non political organization sponsored by the Jewish national fund (Keren Kayemet LeIsrael). The groups are a non formal educational frame that holds hiking, navigation and nature activities for youth aged 10-18.With the help of the counselors, the students learn about Israel’s history, geography and environment and develop survival skills. Through the adventures and experiences during the hikes, the teenagers acquire self-confidence, independence, curiosity and a better understanding of their surroundings. Our goal is to prepare our youth to become dedicated citizens who are able to assume leadership roles in Israel and around the world. The main activities are: •Hiking, navigation and camping. •Involvement in environmental activities. •The absorption of immigrants •Groups for deprived youth.
