The Nirim Foundation's main goal is to enable youth at high risk to overcome their harsh life circumstances, fulfill their potential and become normative, self-confident, productive and contributing members of Israeli society.
Founded in 2003 Nirim operates two highly successful, unique and powerful educational-therapeutic platforms for youth at extreme risk; a residential track- Nirim Youth Village and a community outreach track - Nirim in the Neighborhoods, a nationwide community program operating in 10 distressed neighborhoods throughout Israel. By using strong unconventional and dramatic tools, Nirim enables extreme high risk youths to overcome their difficult life circumstances to fulfill their potential to become normative, self-confident, productive and contributing members of Israeli society. Participants of the Nirim programs are boys and girls, ages 14-18, often identified by Israeli social services as "Youth at Extreme High Risk." We believe that every one of these at risk adolescents can achieve academic and personal goals far beyond their own expectations, develop their individual skills, build a new self-image, gain a new set of tools and thus choose a positive life path.
