The association operates on three main levels for the sake of the community:
1. Advocacy: Over a decade ago, the association established a rights center that enables the Bedouin residents of the Negev to use the knowledge and skill of professionals in regards to the daily interfaces with the local and national government systems. The center operates four times a week in Rahat, by a 50% full-time manager, together with a team of four volunteers. The center operates on a personal level; Advocacy and treatment of debts and foreclosures in front of the National Insurance, government ministries, water corporations, business companies, the execution, and more. on the public level; Over the years, the "Kafa" association has been involved in many public struggles, such as: a petition to an administrative court against the collective punishment taken by the Mekorot water company, which would have punished the city of Rahat and cut off an entire city from water because of the debts of some of the residents. The public struggle of the Kafa association in the removal of the cellular antenna that Bezeq planned to establish in the city's only public transport network at the time. Furthermore, the association is involved through the rights center in the petition discussed at the High Court to exercise the housing rights of the residents of Rahat and prevent the displacement of the unknown village of Alzarnok. The center also carries out outreach activities in order to bring to the public their basic rights, especially workers' rights, going out to the sick
2. Benevolence: The association established a benevolence enterprise that collects donations, in money and of monetary value, from the Bedouin public, for the purchase of food, clothes and other basic needs for the community's needy. This project reflects well the essence of the organization - citizens for citizens. With the outbreak of the Iron Swords War, the association helped many hundreds of needy families with food baskets and emergency equipment.
3. Community initiatives: The association works to motivate the Bedouin population to social activism, in light of the inability of the local and national government systems to provide a response to the basic needs of the population. By encouraging volunteerism and an entrepreneurial spirit among the Bedouin community, we aim to bring about the awakening of Bedouin civil society and its transformation into an alternative supplier of public goods, instead of the local and national government systems.

An example of one of our leading projects: Cultivating leadership among Bedouin youth. The city of Rahat faces enormous challenges, in a way that is almost incomparable to any other city in Israel. Unemployment, crime and poverty figures in the city are among the highest in Israel; On the other hand, the eligibility figures for matriculation and academic degrees are among the lowest. As an organization that grew out of the community in the city, the "Kafa" association strongly believes in the ability of the community to promote itself and help itself; Moreover, we are sure that a significant driving force for this type of process is the youth. It is important to note that there are almost no informal education and enrichment frameworks in the city for youth who desire it. The leadership program gives Rahat youth, both boys and girls, the tools and skills to become positive leaders and role models in our community. Every year, 25 boys and girls from Rahat, take part in this important initiative. They meet on a weekly basis, enjoy lectures, workshops, tours, and meetings with decision makers; Finally, they are encouraged to initiate and implement a social initiative that will face some community challenge and encourage the continued expansion and promotion of a joint society in the Negev.
