we prepare at-risk youth serving in the IDF. Established in 2011 by Meir Dagan the former Head of Mossad. Today our president is Mr Yossi Cohen former Head of the Mossad. We strive to narrow gaps in the Israel by empowering underprivileged youth
meaningful military service is highly regarded in Israel, both as a way of contributing to society and as an important rite of passage which can change the trajectory of one’s civilian life long after their army service. Unfortunately, studies have shown that young people from weaker populations often lack the skills to complete a meaningful service in the army. At-risk kids often lack the mental preparedness and motivation to succeed in the army. Our program provides both the mental and physical education that gives participants a toolbox for life. We strive to narrow gaps in the Israeli society by empowering underprivileged youth, making them feel more connected to the State of Israel and helping them becoming active members of the Israeli society. How do we do it? Once accepted, the young boys & girls spend 10 months in the preparatory program, with the option of an additional half-year as needed. The group is an important element in the life of the program and in the acquisition of skills; in the sense of belonging, of acceptance, of tolerance as well as of effective, respectful discourse and more. Peer learning: they participate in learning groups to discuss issues such as identity, values and social issues, moral dilemmas in the army, leadership, leaders and more. Volunteering experience: Through volunteering, by seeing the difficulties others face, they will transform their inner monologue from one of entitlement, victimhood, and discouragement to one of generosity and empowerment. Outdoor Treatment Therapy (ODT): a method that utilizes the challenges of nature and the outdoors as a basis and a catalyst for experiences and difficulties to deal with in treatment. The Ministry of Defense/Education/welfare Participate in 55% of the cost of an apprentice the parents usually finance the remaining 45%. Not in our preparatory program, parents cannot finance! Therefore, we have the responsibility to fund the additional funding required.
