The 'Ezer Lazulat' association aims to assist families facing economic and everyday living challenges, as well as individuals with special needs. Operating for seven years, the association is the realization of a personal dream based on a sense of belonging and a strong desire to contribute to the community. The association is built on social values such as helping others, patience, "love your neighbor as yourself," sustainable development, and limitless giving.
The association operates a soup kitchen located in Afula Illit, providing a hot meat meal to 100 diners every day. It's important to note that we source our food through the "Food Rescue" operation, collecting quality fresh and nutritious food that would otherwise be discarded, and reallocating them to the soup kitchen.
Among those who visit the center, you can find seniors, new immigrants, recovering addicts, lonely individuals seeking companionship, and at-risk youth. The association, in partnership with the "Kinneret Welfare Services" organization, encompasses an additional value by integrating individuals with special needs, who reside in a rehabilitation framework, into the daily operations of the soup kitchen. In essence, they become integral operators of the facility. Their involvement provides them with employment, social integration into community life, empowers their personality, strengthens their confidence and self-esteem, and brings them great satisfaction from contributing to the place.
The 'Ezer Lazulat' association leads educational activities emphasizing the values of helping others, mutual assistance, and the significance of fostering acceptance and appreciation of other's differences.
The association works in full collaboration with the welfare departments in Afula and the Jezreel Valley, distributing about 250 full food baskets during holidays to families in need.
In recent times, the association seeks to grow and expand its circle of giving and assistance. These day we busy with establishing an open-space therapeutic rehabilitation farm emerged, responding to the growing need, particularly due to the ongoing conflict in our country. It is no secret that proximity to nature, the land, and open air reduces anxieties, diminishes fears, and can only benefit any population engaged in such activities.
