Maya Gallery aims to develop social and artistic value by presenting artworks made by artist from the geographic, communal and social periphery in Israel, alongside exhibitions of artist in the beginning phase of their career.

Maya gallery was founded by a group of artist, led and initiated by the painter Michael Kovner and the sculpture Avner Levinson. Their aim was to evolve and enrich the israeli Art field, and painting in particular.
Therefor they have established an art gallery, where artist from the geographic, communal and social periphery in Israel can exhibit their works in a professional space at the heart of Tel Aviv art scene. In addition, the gallery hosts exhibitions of artists in the beginning phase of their career, artists who have been influential at the first years of the country and artists who represent interesting new approaches to art in their works. Furthermore, as a cultural space, the gallery host poetry evenings, dancing and music events.
