About

The Mill is a house for a range of individual initiatives, blending between arts, crafts, youth and adult education, environment and public events that promotes civic culture The Mill is a house for a range of individual initiatives, blending between arts, crafts, youth and adult education, environment and public events. These initiatives work both independently and engagingly – helping each other’s work and sharing supplies. This way, in order to realize individual wishes, gifts and potentials, we strengthen communal bonds. These principles were also the starting point of Sheikh Abreik Festival for Civilian Culture, our prime project prior to the Mill. Our first initiative was establishing the Social Arts Studying Program, dedicated to individual, communal and civic empowerment and researching the relations between art, society and spirit. We believe that rebuilding society should be considered as an art, not just as an action. We are looking for partnership with individuals and organizations, sharing with us the vision of free, committed, creative, grass-roots, glocally-oriented, sustainable culture. We invite groups and individuals to stay at the Mill for tailor-made residencies & initiatives. It takes a community to create a new culture. Join us!
