Representation and promotion of physicists and engineers engaged in medical professions in Israel, consultation on legislation and regulations on physics issues, including in the fields of imaging, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy and radiation protection planning, building and management of training programs and maintaining professional fitness for medical physicists and setting standards for medical physicist certification, promoting patient safety from radiation, setting standards regarding ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in medicine in the State of Israel and monitoring them, developing and encouraging relationships among physicists including research collaborations to advance medicine in Israel, additionally, the association will work to establish uniform procedures and regulations for hospitals in Israel, in order to ensure high levels of safety and quality in all medical institutions, the union seeks to raise the quality of medicine in Israel through promoting innovative developments and implementation of advanced technologies in the field of medical physics sciences, it also intends to organize periodic professional conferences in Israel and abroad which serve as a venue for exchange of knowledge, innovation and professional development necessary for advancing the field, the association will engage in promoting scientific and technological research and will provide professional training for medical physicists that will ensure efficient and safe use of radiation technologies for diagnostic and treatment purposes, the association intends to invest substantial resources in training new medical physicists through advanced workshops, lectures and courses aimed at updating professionals in the latest technologies and advanced research in the field
