Edut (testimony) was set up with the goal of documenting and preserving the memories of the attacks, and Edut 710 is the largest organization in Israel dedicated to collecting the testimonies of those who survived or witnessed the October 7 attacks. Edut (testimony) was set up with the goal of documenting and preserving the memories of the attacks, and creating a comprehensive, professional digital archive of testimonies, that will be kept at the National Library of Israel for generations to come. Just days after the attacks a group of documentary filmmakers, historians, academic researchers, and mental health practitioners, all volunteers, came together to lay the foundations for this unique project. Our field crews, many of them professional documentary filmmakers, began recording testimonies almost immediately. They have been trained and accompanied by professionals from the field of mental health and emotional support, to ensure the highest professional and ethical standards are maintained. At Edut 710 our aim is to listen to the witnesses, allow them the time and the safe space to tell their story in their own way, in an authentic way and publish their accounts with as little editing as possible. Our goal is to reach every person who wants to tell their story, across all communities and areas affected. The testimonies archive is free and accessible already, in the service of the survivors and their families, as well as future use for education, research and artistic creation. Edut 710 is a volunteer- based organization. We operate with no political or media affiliation.
