Rehovot Shel Etzim is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting urban forestry and tree conservation in Israeli cities. Since its establishment, the organization has collaborated with local authorities, environmental groups, and local communities to ensure the protection of urban trees and the integration of green infrastructure into urban planning sustainably. The organization engages in mapping streets without shade, encouraging the planting of high-quality trees, and protecting trees from unjustified felling. Additionally, Rehovot Shel Etzim empowers local communities by establishing Tree Guardian groups that advocate for tree protection and collaborate with authorities to promote urban forestry. The long-term goal of the organization is to increase the volume of trees in cities by creating a network of local Tree Guardian groups and to become the leading authority in urban tree conservation in Israel.
