Zichron Menachem was the first organization established in Israel in 1990 to provide social services to children with cancer and their immediate families. Children hail from all strata of society, with no discrimination as to ethnicity, religion or socio-economic status. New immigrants and veteran Israelis benefit equally. Programs, activities, services and facilities are provided for the children and every family member. Ongoing intensive support is crucial to the recovery of the entire family unit. Zichron Menachem makes a difference to their lives. Menachem was an Israeli boy who battled leukemia for 14 years. After he passed away, his parents Chaim and Miri Ehrental founded the organization in his memory. Their personal experience as parents of a child suffering from cancer, coupled with their accumulated knowledge of intricate medical considerations, constitute the greatest asset of Zichron Menachem. They 'adopt' families into the family-like environment of Zichron Menachem, in order to empower them to effectively cope with the terrible disease.
