About

To address the needs of the hard of hearing individuals, above the age of 18, and to provide them with the tools to help themselves in every aspect of their lives. In Israel there are about 700,000 people who suffer from some level of hearing loss. Most of them do not use sign language and have major difficulties in communicating with their surrounding - at work or at social gatherings - and also with the accessibility of information (like TV, theater, etc.). Bekol aims to address these difficulties, to increase public awareness for the needs of this population group. Emphasis is on helping elderly people. Bekol also lobbies the authorities for new legislations for the benefit of the hard of hearing.
