About

Timora operates educational-therapeutic programs for youth from the religious sector that were excluded from the educational, communal and family frameworks. The Timora Organization was established in 2002 with the goal of answering the need of at-risk youths from the religious sector. Most of these teens were expelled from the religious school system (and often shunned from home and community), however they also failed to fit in to secular public schools because they still felt more affiliated with their religious identity. They find themselves lacking any supportive framework, and often deteriorate to vagrancy, drug and alcohol use and other self-destructive behaviors. The organization has devoted itself wholeheartedly to the challenge of rehabilitating these youths. The organization operates two boarding schools: Yiftach for boys and Machol for girls. Both schools apply the DEM – Dynamic Education Model, which was developed and honed over the years by the schools' staff. This approach helps boys and girls to overcome past experiences, reintegrate into society, and lead independent adult lives.
