About

Beit Avi Chai is a center for Jewish culture located in Jerusalem, dedicated to creation, development, and expression of Jewish thought and its ideas. Programs built and presented to the public by Beit Avi Chai seek to bring together a broad and diverse Jewish population and create among participants the desire and impulse to learn about the richness and beauty of Jewish culture and thought, and encourage them to continue examining them further. Beit Avi Chai, inspired by the mission of the Avi Chai Foundation, is committed to the continuity of the Jewish people, to Judaism, and to the centrality of the State of Israel for the Jewish people. Its objectives are: A. To encourage mutual understanding and sensitivity among Jews from different religious backgrounds and different commitments to tradition. B. To cultivate and develop affinity with Jewish tradition among all members of the Jewish people. Beit Avi Chai is driven by the understanding that the desire to know Judaism is rooted in study of its sources, awareness of Jewish culture, history and literature and their appreciation, and respect for Jews who differ from one another in their cultural background, their customs, their ethnic traditions, and the way they express their Judaism
