The mission of IT Works is to empower disadvantaged populations by providing the tools and knowledge for personal and professional development through technological employment.
IT Works implements technological, vocational training programs for marginalized groups throughout Israel. Its participants are mentored in finding a skilled technological position, which will open the door to countless career opportunities and financial independence. In the past 4 years, over 600 participants from diverse backgrounds have completed IT Works courses, of which 65% are employed and economically independent today. Upon recruitment, 40% of IT Works participants are typically unemployed and rely on government welfare services, while the remaining 60% are working in unskilled positions such as cleaners or kitchen workers, often times without proper employee benefits and earning salaries on which it is impossible to support a family with dignity. IT Works training serves a diverse range of demographic groups nationwide including: low-income women, Druze, new immigrants, Ethiopian-Israelis, at-risk youth (including high school drop-outs), Israeli-Arabs and adults.
