The Huntington Israel Association works for the patients with Huntington's disease and their family members, who are also at risk of contracting the disease.
The Huntington's Association in Israel was established in 2009 by a group of family members of Huntington's patients. Most of its activity is voluntary and is based on a handful of family members and professionals from various fields who contribute as much as they can for the benefit of the patients and their families. The association does not currently employ salaried workers. The association aims to acknowledge the existence of the disease and its consequences in the various levels of Israeli society and thereby influence decision makers and service providers to promote knowledge, information and research, with the aim of creating significant change. A change that will cause a transition from an incurable disease, causing suffering and distress, to a disease that can be stopped. We strive to reach all patients in Israel, in all sectors, in order to break the cycle of loneliness of patients and families, and to reduce ignorance.
