Yovel Community - Judaism and Tradition in the Way of the Heart - Gedera

Establishment and operation of a community in the Gdera settlement and in surrounding settlements in the spirit of Reform Judaism and within the framework of the Progressive Jewish Movement in Israel, while strengthening values of mutual responsibility. Establishment and operation of a Progressive Jewish synagogue for conducting prayers and life cycle ceremonies in the spirit of Progressive Jewish values and on the basis of gender equality. Organization of Jewish cultural activities, intellectual and ideological enrichment and Torah study for all ages including family education with emphasis on adolescents and children. Provision of educational services, formal and informal, in the spirit of Progressive Judaism for all ages in cooperation with various bodies operating in Gdera and its surroundings. Promotion of values of religious freedom and conscience, religious tolerance and social justice in Israeli society in general and among residents of Gdera and the surrounding area in particular. Organization of engaged social activities, acts of kindness and activities for the public good in the spirit of Progressive Judaism including promotion of love of the land and familiarity with it, nature and environmental protection and support for needy populations and those with special needs. Assistance for immigrants, including fostering and strengthening Jewish and Israeli identity in the spirit of Progressive Judaism and cultivating connection with diaspora Jewry
