New Family is dedicated to a new practice of family law developed by our founder and executive director Irit Rosenblum that creates families without discrimination of faith, gender, sexual orientation, nationality or legal status.
Since 1998, New Family has distinguished itself as the leading family rights advocates in Israel. New Family serves all families in Israel subject to legal inequalities, including people who can’t marry their partner or can’t marry at all in Israel, and those eligible for religious marriage that choose common-law partnership on principle. We faithfully serve immigrants, non-Orthodox Jews, same-sex couples, converts, minorities, religiously taboo unions, migrants, asylum seekers, people who don’t meet the religious definition of any faith, or meet the definition of two faiths, and their children. Through an integrated strategy of legal consultation, innovating legal solutions that mitigate rights infringements, litigating ground-breaking legal precedents, policy advocacy, data analysis, and public outreach, New Family has served 150,000 people, helped form thousands of families, and impacted the lives of millions.
