Guardians of the Land Hashlama is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving agricultural lands and promoting sustainable farming practices. Through a comprehensive network of volunteers, the organization provides essential support to farmers facing challenges such as land degradation, climate change, and economic hardship. At the heart of Hashlama’s operations is a dedicated team of over a hundred National Service volunteers. These young individuals commit their time to a variety of tasks, including reforestation, soil conservation, and water management. By working directly with farmers, the volunteers contribute to the long-term health and productivity of agricultural lands. To bolster its efforts, Hashlama relies on the support of thousands of volunteers from all walks of life. These individuals participate in regular workdays and overnight stays on farms, assisting with essential tasks such as fencing, irrigation, and harvesting. Additionally, Hashlama has established a robust firefighting unit to protect farms from wildfires, a growing threat in many regions. Beyond its agricultural focus, Hashlama is also committed to environmental conservation. The organization operates a dedicated team of environmental rangers who monitor the health of local ecosystems and enforce environmental regulations. By combining agriculture and conservation, Hagshama is working to create a more sustainable and resilient future for both farmers and the environment
